Why is the recycling of mobiles essential?

A safer environment

While a mobile phone is a non-biodegradable product, it consists of toxic elements which end up in a lot of landfills. The screen of mobile phones is made of glass, and it is a product that cannot decompose naturally. With time, it darkens in colour, and it is wise to recycle it to prevent possible risks to human and animal health.

What’s more, throwing mobile phones gives a dirty look on the land.

2. If we recycled all of the 130 million cell phones that are tossed aside annually in the United States, we could save enough energy to power more than 24,000 homes for a year.
3. For every one million cell phones recycled, we can recover 75 pounds of gold, 772 pounds of silver, 33 pounds of palladium, and 35,274 pounds of copper; cell phones also contain tin, zinc, and platinum that can be reused.
4. Cell phones and other electronic devices also contain hazardous materials such as lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, and brominated flame retardants. If tossed in landfills, these materials can contaminate air, soil, and groundwater.
